We had a great time and had a big group with us, including a bunch of little kids, we probably had 10 kids under the age of 5 with us up there. The drive up and back was a bit laboreous but the rest was great. We hit up a waterpark the first full day and Logan loved playing in the pools. I took him down a few water slides and he wasn't sure how much he liked that, but at least he had some new experiences, and overall I'm pretty sure he had a blast. We spent the rest of the trip playing at the campground, eating, drinking, and generally being merry... good stuff. Here's a few generic pictures of the Chelan area for your viewing pleasure...

Walter S. Hard to believe that four years ago we were getting hitched, and going through all the excitement of the wedding day festivities. Time sure seems to have flown by, but on the other hand if I can't hardly remember what its like to not be married. Four years seems like some sort of achievement, I'm thinking its because highschool takes four years, college takes four years, and so now that we've been married for four years I feel like we should be having some sort of graduation or something!

Even though today is our actual aniversary, we had a babysitter last night for Logan so we went out to celebrate. We hit up the Bonefish Grill here in the Tri-Cities and got some wicked tasty grub, Tiff had the salmon and I went for a steak & shrimp special they were having, it was awesome. After that we went and saw Terminator:Salvation and it was actually really good, lots of action, good story that kept up at a good pace, and even had a few throw backs to the original Terminator movies, all and all it was a great night.

So hears to me and Tiff, four years of marital bliss, every year just keeps getting better!

~W~

Walter S. Its only been a few ... cough ... nine... cough months since my last post so I feel that i've done pretty well all things considered, I mean I have been pretty busy. I mean with all these TV shows available online these days who can keep up with interacting with "real people". I know what your thinking, "is he really blaming Hulu for his laziness?!" and the answer of course is... yes I am. Well Hulu, and The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Scrubs, Lost, and Heroes. I don't even have TV hooked up at my house, unfortunately i discovered a little something i'm calling the earth wide web and its got all sorts of shows on it.

Well enough about that i'll throw out a quick synopsis of my life for the last nine months: Logan's got bigger, better, and stronger, I went through my 3rd tax season and barely survived, I went to Hawaii to pat myself on the back for barely surviving, and now its almost summer time and i'm looking forward to BBQ's, golf, chilling with friends, and having a good time (SBS aught 9 is in full effect!) Here's a few pictures from the last several months, hopefully I can keep this sucker up to date a little better. My chances have drastically improved thanks to many season finales this week.

Walter S. Mostly due to finally passing my last CPA exams and officially becoming a Certified Public Accountant, it is nice to have that behind me for sure!

Other than that life is good, Logan is getting big, walking around, talking, and getting more and more attitude by the day (gets it from his mother naturally...)! I'm gearing up for tax season and getting ready to see my family about half as much, which will be a bummer, but it only lasts 2 1/2 months really so its survivable.

My buddy Joe gets out of the army for good on Wednesday this week, which is sweet, it will be nice to have him back, can't believe its been 4 years since he enlisted. Ironically my brother in law steve enlisted and reports for basic in like a week! The good news is I only have one person that i'm close to to worry about at a time. Steve will rock it in the Army and probably come back all ripped and stuff, it will be awesomeness. Well i'd better get back to work, this time of year if the bosses see me slacking its 10 lashes instead of 5...

Peace out ~

~W~

Walter S. I check it pretty much every day at work because thats the easy way to see if my friends have updated their blogs. The ironic thing is that i'll see that someone hasn't updated their blog for 3 weeks and think "man those guys are slackers!" and then i realized i haven't updated mine for at least a month...

So anywho here's a little update. In the last month or so the main events have been that Logan turned 1 on September 14th! We had a big party at our house with around 15-20 people packing into our little kitchen/dining room/living room to watch Logan gorge himself on his own personal cake and open a bunch of presents (well i opened them and logan smiled and licked the cake of his fingers). It was a really good time and Tiff and I could hardly believe that he is already a year old, man times flies when your having fun.

Other than Logan's b-day I found out yesterday that I passed by 3rd CPA test section. Woohoo! So now i only have 1 left to go and the pain and suffering will finally be over. I've been studying everyday like a mofo since March and i'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion of the CPA saga.

Here's a few pics from the last month or so, I uploaded a bunch more on my facebook so thats probably the best place to check them all out.

~W~

Walter S. Well sticking with that pattern, I have a breaking news update for my dedicated fan base, thats right both of you! A few months ago I posted that I had received a 74% on my Auditing section of the Exam, which is 1% less than needed to pass. Well I retook Auditing a month or so ago and recently got my score back. It was a flipping 86%!! So I blew that one out of the water second time around, I think it was all the anger from the 74% motivating me to pass it the 2nd time.

Well tomorrow I go to take another test section, this time its Financial Accounting and Reporting or "FAR". Its the hardest of the sections and i've been studying like 3 hours a day for the last 3-4 weeks in prep, hopefully i pass the sucker. But even if i don't i'll be glad to have taken it, and if I don't pass it then i'll get it the next time like i did w/ auditing.

Even better is that after tomorrow, i start a long weekend vacation to Seaside Oregon. Its gonna be pretty sweet because Porter is coming back into town and goin on the trip, Amy&Steve&Breck are going to meet us down there, and so is Sarge aka Joe Byrd. Its going to be a flippin sweet vacation, and a nice break from all the hardcore studying i've been doing. I'm flipping stoked to go and relax, let me tell you what man. Well thats it for now, here's a few pics of the seaside area to make you jealous. (of course the majority of the people who might actualy read this will be there with me...)

Walter S. Last weekend a bunch of family and friends went up to Courde Laine Lake for the weekend to camp and have some fun. I had a CPA exam on thursday last week so I took that in Spokane and then we went up to the Lake to meet with the fam and have a little mini vacation. It was a really fun weekend, we spent time in the water and hanging in the town, as well as having fun back at the campsite. It was pretty fun stuff.

Other than that this week has been pretty fun as well, Joe "Sarge" Byrd has been in town on leave so we've had fun chillin like villians. We hit Indian Springs pool one night, and last night we kicked it old school and watched a movie.

Well can't write much cuz i'm at work, and the taskmasters will be coming around with their cat o' nine tails soon to make sure i'm working hard.

Till Next Time,

~W~

Courde Laine Beach

Walter S. I mean I literally have 10 times more fun in those 3 days then in the other 4 days of the week. This last weekend was another good one. Friday I got off work after lunch and spent some time with Tiff and Logan, then we got together with my mom and dad to celebrate my Mom's b-day. We didn't do anything too exciting but we had a good time hanging out, then Tiff and I went home and watched Batman Begins to get in the zone for the new Batman movie.

Saturday we had a suprise b-day party for Josh at Indian Spring swimming pool which was wicked fun. I hadn't been there in years and i forgot how much fun it was swimming there. It was a throw back to the old school days as we play crocodiles, and did tricks of the diving board. Check out the end of this music video to see the diving board trick i busted out...

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=192881396920976368&q=sum+41+in+too+deep&ei=HvyESKrnDpu-qgO9sOidBQ&hl=en

then on saturday afternoon Tiff, Stokes, Jesse, and me all went and saw the Dark Knight and it was frickin sweet. Heath Ledger was the bomb as the Joker and the action and story line were all great. Probably my favorite movie of the summer, giving Iron Man a run for its money. This Batman was darker and more realistic than all the others and i really like it, the joker was pure evil yet irresistably likable, a strange combination.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day, we hit up Gram's house for dinner and to celebrate Mom's b-day again. It was fun and a really nice day. Reed and Sophia had to take off early but the rest of us hung out on the deck, sipped diet pepsi's, and visited for a while, it was good times.

Well other than that not much new going on, this week is crazy. CPA test on thursday, then camping the rest of the weekend, so its kind of sweet/sour. Mmm..... sweet and sour chicken....

until next time

~W~

I'll try to post some new pics soon, here's a few of the fam to hold you over....

Walter S. On Friday I went golfing with my dad, ben geppert, and glen walley. We had a good time and I shot a respectable 86 so I was happy. The best part of the day though was watching Ben shoot the best round of his life. He was flipping out everytime he drained a birdie putt, or had a sweet shot. The guy was really dialed in and shot a 74 I think. It was fun stuff.

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=98020

On saturday I got to watch Logan for a couple of hours while Tiff tried out this art studio here in town with her friend Amanda. Logan and I had a good time, and I bought him a frostie so you know he was loving his dad! We spent most of our time walking up and down the path at the park and checking stuff out, fun stuff. Saturday night Tiff and I went and checked out a dust devil baseball game with Josh, Aud, Jesse, Shane, and Becky. It was fun stuff even though the devils got their trash handed to them, but hanging out at the ball game with friends was what it was about anyways. That and watching people get tanked and make funny decisions.

Sunday Josh and Audra's baby, Riley, was blessed and I got to take part in that. It was fun, and made me remember blessing Logan, seems so recent but I guess its been like 8 months. That boy needs to slow down on the growing! Then we all went to Josh and Aud's for a big lunch party, it was good times for sure.

Well back to work, speaking off there might be news on that subject soon, but I won't say anything yet. Besides work/family stuff not much goin on, got another CPA exam test next week on thursday, i'm stressing about that... if I get another 74% things might get a little crazy around here!

Anywho, check ya'll later

~W~

Walter S. Friday a whole bunch of us floated down the columbia river for a couple of hours and I got a chance to even out my farmer's/accountant's tan a little bit, which was decidedly overdue. We had fun floating down the river, and even Logan enjoyed himself enough to zonk out for a quick nap on his dad's lap. Pictures coming soon~

Besides the 4th of July this weekend we celebrated Tiff's 22nd b-day on sunday night, although her real b-day was yesterday on the 7th. It was fun to get the whole family together for some food and fun. The watkins busted out their ping pong table so it was game on in the garage for a while during the party, thats some pretty fun stuff. Check out this video of me playing ping pong...

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-443844193359490622&q=ping+pong&ei=8ZJzSKPONoj84ALysfmjDw&hl=en

Well anywho, it was a good weekend, lots of hanging out with friends and family and lots of chillin like a villian. The only downside to a nice 3 day weekend is coming back to work on Monday... doh!

Peace Out Homies!

~W~

Walter S. Even a 3 day weekend seems to fly by incredibly fast, while the standard work week seems to drag on forever! Well regardless, this last weekend was a good one. As I mentioned in my previous post I went golfing on Friday at Horn Rapids with my dad, brother Reed, and family friend Ben Geppert. It was a beautiful hot summer day, we kicked off at 8:00 AM and I had a pretty good front 9, I shot a 45 which is respectable for a scratch golfer like me. But the back nine was a different story, I opened up with 4 straight pars including sinking a 25 foot put on number 10. Then I lost a bit of the mojo and dropped 4 straight bogies (although a bogie for me isn't all that bad), and finished up the round with a par on number 18 for a total score of 85. Which for me, is one of my best rounds in years. Of course my dad played out of his mind and dropped a 75 and totally stole my spotlight, but still it was a good day of golfing for everyone. Whats more, it was free golfing, and I tell you what there is nothing sweeter than playing free golf on a nice day and posting a sweet score, yes siree it was a good day.

We also hit up Stephanie Mano's (now Self) wedding on Saturday night, and had a good time seeing family and friends. The bride and groom looked happy and their little boy Hayden is one cute kid, I mean my son Logan blows him out of the water, but its not fair to compair other kids to logan. Its like the average person against michael jordan, even if your good Jordan will school you (thing I'm proud of my son much? ) Anywho, it was a nice night, I wished we could stay longer but the little squezer had to go to bed.

I'll try to post some new pics on here soon of what the Kinney Clan has been up to, till then -

~W~

Walter S. This is probably my favorite 4some to golfing with here in town, we usually have lots of fun and Ben is hillarious (not to mention that when Ben goes, we all play for free(double woot)!)

The only problem is that last time I went golfing my swing was all over the place, and i was struggling to keep my cool. Golf is the craziest game in the world, you have so many things to keep track of mid swing its a wonder that anyone can do it right: keep your head down, knees slightly bent, rotate at the waist, keep wrists strong, bend one arm, keep other arm straigh, shift weight porportionally during swing, keep club face open at correct angle, stay on balance, strike downward(or through it, on down behind it, depending on the shot) and finally finish with a follow through. Unless of course your Roy McAvoy with a unfinished swing, whether thats because you've never finished a thing in your life or because its the best way to play through the winds of west richland, thats not the point (Tin Cup reference for you non-golfers).

Anywho, golf is sweet, golf is hard, i've been more angry playing golf than probably doing anything else, but i've also felt the most satisfaction as i tap in a eagle on a long par 5. Either way, it beats being at work! :)

Rock On

~W~

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=golf+bloopers&hl=en&sitesearch=#

Walter S. I have been studying and taking tests since february of this year and just got the test scores of my first two tests on friday last week. Before I let you in on the scores (although an astute reader might get a clue from the blog title) let me tell you about the CPA exam.

The cpa exam is seperated into 4 sections:REG, AUD, FAR, and BEC. REG is the tax and business law section, AUD is auditing and attestation, FAR is financial accounting and reporting, and BEC is business environment and concepts. The general ranking of difficulty from high to low is FAR, REG, AUD, BEC. I took REG and AUD during the last few months and had to study for about 80 hours before each test. REG took about 3 hours of testing and AUD took about 3.5 hours. To pass a exam section you have to score a 75% or higher, and the pass rates for the tests range in the 35-45% range, so these suckers are tough. Anywho the suspense is over and here's my test results:

REG- 79% (flippin sweet!)
AUD-74% (NOT so flippin sweet)

Can you believe they gave me a 74%!!! that shoudn't be legal, i've been ticked all weekend long thinking about this! I think its a conspiracy to get more money out of me because it costs like 300 bucks each time you take one of these suckers. Anywho, i'm going to restudy for AUD for 3 weeks and retake it and PASS it this time. Then i'll be 1/2 done and should finish my other 2 sections by october, with some luck i'll be a CPA before my 24th b-day. woohoo

So anywho, had to vent my frustrations, so if any of you out there know a CPA exam test grader, punch them in the face for me :) have a nice day!

~W~

Walter S. How did this sneak up on me?! For those of you not in the know hogs and dogs is a big motorcycle and classic car rally in my hometown of West Richland, WA. Its getting bigger every year and this year is drawings some 5000 motorcycles or something crazy like that. There will be tunes from 97 rock and all the pork byproducts cooked in warm water that you can handle!

Then I realized, holy crap, hogs n dogs weekend is also Cool Desert Nights weekend, a big muscle car show in my other home town of (non-west)Richland! Until this morning I had nothing to look forward to this weekend except a friend of a friends wedding reception. Now I can plan on having a giant testosterone shot into my system as I go drool over custom choppers and bad-A muscle cars! I flipping love that kind of stuff, and its exactly what i need to keep me from going loco in la cabasa at work today and tomorrow. I can already feel the gentle rumble of a suped up big block chevy v8!

I think the reason i secretly love muscle car shows and stuff so much is that it gives me a chance to show off my knowledge of classic cars and engines. I was telling Tiffany (my wife) yesterday that in order to retain my manliness, I have to counter my generally wussy job of accounting with lots of manly stuff when i'm not at work. Thats why I love meat, sports, muscle cars, hot chicks, and rock and roll baby! See you out there!

Walter S. I'm glad to see that the weather is getting toasty and i'm looking forward to all the sweet summer fun. I'm pretty sure that every kid that is a product of the public school system has this ingrain love for summer for life. Last week was the end of the school year for kids around here and i'll admit it kind of made me jealous, i'm half tempted to become a teacher so i can experience that feeling of freedom for 2 1/2 months a year instead of withering away in my fluorescent lightbulb lit cubicle far away from natural sunlight! But I digress... I guess the only downside of summer time is that my suzuki swift has no air conditioning so by the time I get anywhere i'm usually sweating like a toasted cheeser, but another year or two and maybe i'll get a new ride with some AC and some guts, although I will mention that for the first time in my life i'm not partially ashamed to be driving a suzuki swift when i pull up next to a guy in a F-350 Super Duty Diesel because i'm zipping around at about 35 mpg and he's getting about 12 mpg, so it makes me feel smart even though i know he could back his truck right over my car and probably not even feel it...

well until next time my friends, family, and complete strangers - check back for semi regular updates on the exciting life of yours trully~

~W~

Walter S.
