Lake Chelan

This last weekend a bunch of us went up to Lake Chelan for some R&R. We had a great time and had a big group with us, including a bunch of little kids, we probably had 10 kids under the age of 5 with us up there. The drive up and back was a bit laboreous but the rest was great. We hit up a waterpark the first full day and Logan loved playing in the pools. I took him down a few water slides and he wasn't sure how much he liked that, but at least he had some new experiences, and overall I'm pretty sure he had a blast. We spent the rest of the trip playing at the campground, eating, drinking, and generally being merry... good stuff. Here's a few generic pictures of the Chelan area for your viewing pleasure...

Four years and still going strong!

Today is mine and Tiffany's 4 year anniversary! Hard to believe that four years ago we were getting hitched, and going through all the excitement of the wedding day festivities. Time sure seems to have flown by, but on the other hand if I can't hardly remember what its like to not be married. Four years seems like some sort of achievement, I'm thinking its because highschool takes four years, college takes four years, and so now that we've been married for four years I feel like we should be having some sort of graduation or something!

Even though today is our actual aniversary, we had a babysitter last night for Logan so we went out to celebrate. We hit up the Bonefish Grill here in the Tri-Cities and got some wicked tasty grub, Tiff had the salmon and I went for a steak & shrimp special they were having, it was awesome. After that we went and saw Terminator:Salvation and it was actually really good, lots of action, good story that kept up at a good pace, and even had a few throw backs to the original Terminator movies, all and all it was a great night.

So hears to me and Tiff, four years of marital bliss, every year just keeps getting better!

I've got a blog? .... oh yeah, I forgot!

Well after a lengthy hiatus from blogging i'm back to reaffirm my efforts to keep this thing up to date. Its only been a few ... cough ... nine... cough months since my last post so I feel that i've done pretty well all things considered, I mean I have been pretty busy. I mean with all these TV shows available online these days who can keep up with interacting with "real people". I know what your thinking, "is he really blaming Hulu for his laziness?!" and the answer of course is... yes I am. Well Hulu, and The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Scrubs, Lost, and Heroes. I don't even have TV hooked up at my house, unfortunately i discovered a little something i'm calling the earth wide web and its got all sorts of shows on it.

Well enough about that i'll throw out a quick synopsis of my life for the last nine months: Logan's got bigger, better, and stronger, I went through my 3rd tax season and barely survived, I went to Hawaii to pat myself on the back for barely surviving, and now its almost summer time and i'm looking forward to BBQ's, golf, chilling with friends, and having a good time (SBS aught 9 is in full effect!) Here's a few pictures from the last several months, hopefully I can keep this sucker up to date a little better. My chances have drastically improved thanks to many season finales this week.

No i'm not dead, just lazy!

So its been FOREVER since i've posted anything new on my blog and i'd like to say it was because i've been so busy, but really i've had more free time in the last few months that i did the whole year before that. Mostly due to finally passing my last CPA exams and officially becoming a Certified Public Accountant, it is nice to have that behind me for sure!

Other than that life is good, Logan is getting big, walking around, talking, and getting more and more attitude by the day (gets it from his mother naturally...)! I'm gearing up for tax season and getting ready to see my family about half as much, which will be a bummer, but it only lasts 2 1/2 months really so its survivable.

My buddy Joe gets out of the army for good on Wednesday this week, which is sweet, it will be nice to have him back, can't believe its been 4 years since he enlisted. Ironically my brother in law steve enlisted and reports for basic in like a week! The good news is I only have one person that i'm close to to worry about at a time. Steve will rock it in the Army and probably come back all ripped and stuff, it will be awesomeness. Well i'd better get back to work, this time of year if the bosses see me slacking its 10 lashes instead of 5...

Peace out ~

I'll admit it, i'm a slacker.

So its been forever since i've updated my blog and i'll admit that its simply because i'm lazy. I check it pretty much every day at work because thats the easy way to see if my friends have updated their blogs. The ironic thing is that i'll see that someone hasn't updated their blog for 3 weeks and think "man those guys are slackers!" and then i realized i haven't updated mine for at least a month...

So anywho here's a little update. In the last month or so the main events have been that Logan turned 1 on September 14th! We had a big party at our house with around 15-20 people packing into our little kitchen/dining room/living room to watch Logan gorge himself on his own personal cake and open a bunch of presents (well i opened them and logan smiled and licked the cake of his fingers). It was a really good time and Tiff and I could hardly believe that he is already a year old, man times flies when your having fun.

Other than Logan's b-day I found out yesterday that I passed by 3rd CPA test section. Woohoo! So now i only have 1 left to go and the pain and suffering will finally be over. I've been studying everyday like a mofo since March and i'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion of the CPA saga.

Here's a few pics from the last month or so, I uploaded a bunch more on my facebook so thats probably the best place to check them all out.

Tests Tests and more Tests...

It seems like I only get on here to update this thing before or after taking a CPA exam section test! Well sticking with that pattern, I have a breaking news update for my dedicated fan base, thats right both of you! A few months ago I posted that I had received a 74% on my Auditing section of the Exam, which is 1% less than needed to pass. Well I retook Auditing a month or so ago and recently got my score back. It was a flipping 86%!! So I blew that one out of the water second time around, I think it was all the anger from the 74% motivating me to pass it the 2nd time.

Well tomorrow I go to take another test section, this time its Financial Accounting and Reporting or "FAR". Its the hardest of the sections and i've been studying like 3 hours a day for the last 3-4 weeks in prep, hopefully i pass the sucker. But even if i don't i'll be glad to have taken it, and if I don't pass it then i'll get it the next time like i did w/ auditing.

Even better is that after tomorrow, i start a long weekend vacation to Seaside Oregon. Its gonna be pretty sweet because Porter is coming back into town and goin on the trip, Amy&Steve&Breck are going to meet us down there, and so is Sarge aka Joe Byrd. Its going to be a flippin sweet vacation, and a nice break from all the hardcore studying i've been doing. I'm flipping stoked to go and relax, let me tell you what man. Well thats it for now, here's a few pics of the seaside area to make you jealous. (of course the majority of the people who might actualy read this will be there with me...)

Whats the 411?

Well its been a little bit since I posted so I figured i'd better throw up a quick update of the Kinney family doings and a happenings. Last weekend a bunch of family and friends went up to Courde Laine Lake for the weekend to camp and have some fun. I had a CPA exam on thursday last week so I took that in Spokane and then we went up to the Lake to meet with the fam and have a little mini vacation. It was a really fun weekend, we spent time in the water and hanging in the town, as well as having fun back at the campsite. It was pretty fun stuff.

Other than that this week has been pretty fun as well, Joe "Sarge" Byrd has been in town on leave so we've had fun chillin like villians. We hit Indian Springs pool one night, and last night we kicked it old school and watched a movie.

Well can't write much cuz i'm at work, and the taskmasters will be coming around with their cat o' nine tails soon to make sure i'm working hard.

Till Next Time,
